Full Job Description

The Assistant Project Manager assists other departmental staff in the development and execution of projects and manages smaller or less complex projects. The Assistant Project Manager assists with the development of project reports and presentations, including those to senior management. The Assistant Project Manager assists in the management of ongoing projects ensuring completion in a timely manner and within budget. The Assistant Project Manager assists in the maintenance of project documentation by working with others in the department.

This person will work directly with the lines of business to communicate project status updates to key stakeholders. The Assistant Project Manager will also assist in measuring and reporting on the performance of the various projects as part of the PMO reporting process.

Primary duties:

  • Assist and support project team members in managing and completing projects
  • Prepare or collect project status reports on a timely basis
  • Manage project related documentation and maintain in the PMO folder
  • Manage/assist with multiple projects simultaneously
  • Utilize Workfront to create or update project plans on a regular basis
  • Coordinate project meetings as needed and document meeting minutes
  • May have full ownership and responsibility for smaller, less complex projects
  • Communicate between stakeholders and various team members to manage expectations and to ensure that projects progress as planned
  • Anticipate issues/risks and resolve them by direct action or escalation to appropriate level.
  • Assist in keeping projects moving forward to ensure completion on time and on budget.
  • Provide senior management status updates which address accomplishments, issues, risks and next steps for each project.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business related field or Project Management
  • 2-3 years of related project management experience
  • 4-5 years of professional working experience in corporate environment.
  • Banking or financial services experience preferred with strong knowledge of operational processes.
  • Knowledge of MS Office, Project, Visio, and Project Management tools
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies, tools and templates
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership skills and build strong working relationships with business unit leaders.
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and professionally in a corporate environment both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to gather and use data to inform, facilitate decision making and influence others

As the Learning & Development Specialist II (LD) at Byline Bank, you will support the L&D team’s current and emerging training needs with a primary focus on Retail Banking and technology implementations. The L&D position is responsible for conducting training needs assessments, designing and  and implementing impactful training initiatives using a variety of learning experiences – in-person training classes, virtual webinar sessions, on-demand videos.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing and delivering impactful training programs within a fast-paced Banking environment. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be comfortable with ambiguity.

The successful candidate anticipates training needs and can quickly create a plan to implement new programs with minimal supervision.

Essential Functions:

Content Delivery & Facilitation  

  • Facilitate and deliver training programs in an engaging and charismatic manner
  • Facilitate and design technical trainings and job aids and support the launch of new processes, systems and technologies geared towards a large, distributed banking workforce.
  • Experience delivering onboarding training initiatives geared towards new hires with a proven track record of design, delivery and continuous improvement of NHO programs
  • Participate in needs assessment and gap analysis, curriculum development, instructional design, content development, course delivery and facilitation, and training evaluation.
  • Updates operational and supervisory training manuals on a regular basis to ensure changes in policies and procedures; ensure timely communication of modifications in policies and procedures
  • Collaborates with internal/external subject matter experts SME’s in design and delivery of training programs, including scheduling/facilitating trainers and overseeing train-the-trainer programs.
  • Track the success of training materials and programs, and make improvements and adjustments as needed
  • Experience working with administrative aspects of Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Proven experience of designing learnings aligned with the adult learning principles
  • Ability to assess learnings and evaluate learners according to adult learning standards and methodologies

Project Management:

  • Creates and maintains project plans to ensure timely delivery of training materials/programs
  • Strong time management skills: must be able to multi-task and adapt to multiple priorities.
  • Keen attention to detail

Communication:

  • Strong writing, facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to adapt appropriately to different audiences
  • Work across teams to ensure that training content is effectively deployed and represented on the Byline website, internal learning portal(s).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships throughout the organization.

Minimum Requirements

  • Previous experience in Banking or Financial services sectors. Prior experience as an Assistant Branch Manager or Branch manager is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, adult learning or equivalent preferred
  • Professional Certificate in Instructional Design and Adult Learning a plus
  • Must have three (3 years of related Learning and Development experience in a fast-paced team environment
  • 2+ years of designing and developing eLearning programs preferred
  • A minimum of two (2) years designing and delivering in-person trainings
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
