POSITION SUMMARY
Supervises and plans the implementation and administration of training programs for Rail and/or Bus Service employees. Supervises the administration of training programs for rail personnel, other departments of the Authority and outside agencies.

Qualifications

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversees the Authority’s Rail Training Programs. Facilitates and supports training initiatives for all areas of Training and Instruction.

Coordinates with Learning & Support in developing and evaluating Rail Instruction Training Programs.
Ensures that training programs are being conducted effectively and efficiently by facilitators by performing audits.
Confers with Department Staff to determine training initiatives, analyzes training needs, sets objectives and assesses the overall effectiveness of training efforts.
Works with Operations to review established criteria for promotional programs and eligibility for training opportunities, notifies eligibility of garages and individuals and presents to classes.
Plans for long and short term training needs. Responds to requests for revisions to existing programs, develops new programs and training to meet long term agency directives (equipment, customer service, procedures/policies, major projects).

Schedules and maintains daily utilization of instructional staff to meet the varied training requests.

Sets goals and operating procedures. Monitors the activities of the area, sets attainable goals, develops the policies and procedures, and consults with those affected by policies and procedures.

Interviews employees regarding job performance and training qualifications.

Meets State and Federal standards. Daily maintenance of the standards required protecting the authority from citations and maintaining the authority authorization to operate under those standards.

Meets with key managerial personnel, consultants, and vendors to ascertain appropriate training information and materials.

Hires, trains, develops, monitors, and evaluates performance of staff. Reviews and recommends personnel actions for approval.

Performs related duties as assigned.

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

POSITION SUMMARY

Monitors buses along the service routes. 1 Coordinates activities with police departments, fire departments, public utilities, outside agencies and departments within the Authority to utilize its services to restore service operations in a safe, timely and efficient manner.

2 Recommends and advises Authority management of enhancements in processes and procedures that assist in the strategic management of Headway, Big Gap and Bus Bunching issues. o Develops the most efficient solutions to bus bunching, big gaps and headway action to Bus Operators remotely via CleverCAD. o Identifies all routes with real-time service reliability problems. o Communicates with bus service managers to effectively deploy resources. o Directs Bus Operators via CleverCAD with route and direction changes.

3 Assist Bus Operators in troubleshooting techniques and correcting defects and notifies appropriate personnel to also assist with the correction of defects or assist in removal of equipment when necessary. Utilizes CleverCAD and Maintenance Management Information System (MMIS).

4 Maintains logs, delay sheets, and prepares other required documents. Must be able to operate a computer terminal to input or retrieve pertinent data.

The Customer Service Representative acts as the primary point of contact for CTA’s external and internal customers providing information, problem solving and advocating for mass transit consumers. Customer Service Representatives handle a high volume of calls via an inbound call center, delivering the highest service standards and customer resolution while promoting a positive image for the Authority.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Address customer concerns via inbound telephone calls including but not limited to fare media products, reduced fares, bus and rail service, travel information, CTA accessible services, account management and complaints resolution. Must disseminate CTA policy and procedures, maps, timetables and relevant customer information as requested.

Must develop general knowledge of department policies, CTA rule books, CTA standard operating procedures, maps, schedules, products and services, bulletins, and transit system usage.

Demonstrate basic computer skills and the ability to operate CTA databases to enter and retrieve customer feedback, and other types of communication equipment, to relay incoming, outgoing or interoffice calls.

Required to maintain call center/CTA business standards, quotas, productivity goals and participate in coaching sessions, training and testing to achieve goals and maintain current organizational knowledge.

Must maintain daily audit procedures and productivity reports to ensure performance requirements are met, track system access, account activity, service request entries, and other processes to ensure business trends are identified, and management is informed of operational issues.

Must maintain and ensure security and confidentiality of customer information, follow all audit standards, ethics policies and customer service guidelines.

Must be able to make routine arithmetical computations and tabulations accurately.

Apply organizational knowledge and problem solving techniques to route calls, and resolve customer inquiries and respond to issues in a timely manner.
