We invite applications for a full-time, open-rank faculty position. The department of 14 full-time and 6 part-time highly qualified, dynamic faculty is recruiting a physical therapist with demonstrated clinical and teaching experience in physical therapy clinical education. The primary responsibility for the DCE is to manage clinical education, an essential part of our entry-level DPT education program. This involves:

  • Creating relationships with external stakeholders to secure clinical rotations
  • Executing transparent and equitable processes to place students in clinical rotations that meet their educational needs
  • Supporting a healthy, diverse, equitable, and inclusive community
  • Educating and monitoring students during a series of 4 clinical rotations and maintaining contact with clinical instructors
  • Managing student clinical education concerns including remediation and termination as necessary
  • Leading the clinical education team and Clinical Education Committee
  • Additional responsibilities include department, school, and university service; scholarly activity; and an opportunity to teach within the didactic curriculum

The DCE also serves a vital role as a member of the School of Health Sciences Leadership Team, contributing to visioning and tactical execution of annual priorities.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A terminal degree: post-professional doctorate, or DPT with evidence of other professional qualifications (including but not limited to ABPTS or other specialty certification, or additional degree)
  • A minimum of 3 years of clinical practice
  • Eligibility for licensure as a physical therapist in North Carolina
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical education (SCCE, CI, DCE, or ADCE) OR a minimum of 1 year of clinical education experience with an additional 2 years of teaching
  • Completion or commitment to completion of the APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor Program Level 1
  • Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, problem-solving, and counseling skills
  • A commitment to innovation, excellence, and engaged learning

Preferred candidates will also have:

  • Prior experience as a DCE/ADCE/ACCE or SCCE
  • Managerial and/or administrative experience
  • Prior teaching experience in an academic program and/or administrative experience in clinical practice
  • Record of scholarship/research
  • Completion of the APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor Program Level 2

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Department of Accounting in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business invites applications for a tenure-track position in accounting at the assistant professor level.  The specializations of immediate need are in advanced financial, governmental accounting, and intermediate accounting. Only candidates with an earned (by the time of employment) Ph.D. in accounting from an AACSB-accredited university will be considered. We seek candidates who meet the following

qualifications:

  • have prior professional accounting experience or have taught at the assistant professor level at an AACSB-accredited university,
  • can teach these courses using appropriate accounting technology and data tools.

Professional accounting certification is strongly preferred.

The anticipated start date is fall of 2022. Elon faculty members are expected to make strong contributions to instruction and mentoring, research, and service.  Teaching will include courses in Elon’s Core Curriculum. Final candidates will be expected to demonstrate effective undergraduate teaching as well as an on-going research agenda. An interest in teaching in the graduate education programs is desirable.

General Purpose of Position

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Responsible for the development of proposals, studies and engineering drawings for repair/replacement of mechanical systems in the areas of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
· Serve as an engineering liaison to the University’s Planning, Design and Construction for Facilities Management. Review engineering drawings and specifications, construction submittals, and other documents to ensure compliance with university standards.
· Provides leadership and direction for the BAS Application Engineer and their staff in the operation, expansion and utilization of building controls.
· Provides leadership for the Maintenance Engineer, and together provide continuing technical support of existing preventive maintenance program. Work with the Utilities Director to develop preventative maintenance programs for all new construction. Maintain, monitor and manage all major equipment warranties.
· Serves as the University’s Energy Manager, advising Facilities Management leadership of desirable energy conservation initiatives; assess cost effectiveness, technical feasibility, and impact; work in collaboration with various departments across campus including Sustainability, Building Trades, Utilities, Planning/Design & Construction and Campus Technology.
· Monitor and analyze energy consumption, budgeting and costs; oversee campus metering and energy monitoring programs; identify funding opportunities; and coordinate energy retrofit projects and energy audits, including a retro-commissioning/monitoring-based commissioning process for campus facilities.
· Serves as Facilities Management safety coordinator to ensure compliance with local, state and national codes and statutory regulations. Develop and maintain effective measures to ensure Facilities Management is in compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations. Remain up to date on all governmental laws, rules, and regulations which affect hazardous materials that are used, generated, handled, disposed of, or controlled by the department and ensure compliance.
· Responsible for the management of the Elon’s Facilities Management technical library, plans/as-built drawings and university mapping. Requires coordination with Planning, Design & Construction for building standards and review of new construction documentation.
· Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field, preferably mechanical or electrical engineering with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in large commercial or education facilities. Position requires a broad-based knowledge of all phases of major building design, construction, and maintenance with a strong background in mechanical equipment and HVAC systems, including energy management system interfaces. Must be knowledgeable in design and operation of building systems; specification writing and interpretation; construction budgeting and control; strong communication skills; and a basic understanding of current federal, state, and local environmental rules, regulations, and building codes. A high level of organizational and time management skill is required.
