We are looking for a highly motivated person who enjoys a fast-paced, professional, and dynamic work environment to fill this full time position for a Mid-Level Import Consultant.   Placement will be in a Tradewin office at Detroit, MI; Boston, MA; Charleston, SC; Seattle, WA; or Dallas, TX

Key Responsibilities

·       Establish clear and concise communications both internally and externally

·       Research Customs and Partner Government Agency regulations

·       Draft analysis and opinion letters

·       Audit entries

·       Audit and assess importer compliance with U.S. Customs regulations

·       Manage multiple ongoing projects and project deadlines

·       Track project time daily

·       Contribute to departmental improvements

·       Work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

Experience, Education and Qualifications

·       Bachelor’s Degree preferred

·       5+ years’ import compliance experience

·       U.S. Customs Broker license

·       Excellent written and oral communication skills

·       Strong understanding of U.S. Customs and Partner Government Agency requirements

·       Proficient in Word and Excel.  Access database skills preferred.

·       Up to 25% travel may be required

Scope of Position:

Ensure the proper and timely movement of freight and information, while providing an exceptional customer service within the Air Import department.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our operating system
  • Ensure timely delivery and billing of freight to customers for Import shipments
  • Interact with our customers in arranging their international shipments, meeting customer service standards thus maintaining a strong relationship with them

The Accounting Supervisor leads and manage the Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payables processes, including receiving, deposit and recording of ACH/Wires ensuring Customers’ payments are posted timely and ensuring our Service Provider’s invoices are entered in our system so they can be paid on time.

  • Ensure daily post for deposits on accounting system for EFT payments when valid remittance detail is available. Approve based on proper backup uploaded on deposit journal for deposits entered by agents.
  • Monitor the payables and Service Provider’s payments.
  • Manage end of the month activities. Branch Reserves.
  • Ensure that collections are done timely based on agreed payment terms.
  • Work with CHQ on establishing credit for Customers.
  • Escalate problems or concerns to District Manager.

Compliance

  • Understand and comply with company internal controls, specifically the Financial Process Control Documentation.
  • Promote compliance and diligently following all company policies and regulations and performing the task at hand with outstanding integrity.
  • Maintain highest compliance levels for all applicable accounting requirements.

Qualifications
