The Account Manager is a business “creator” and accountable for the successful revenue and gross profit growth of the Experitec within a fixed geographic region. The Account Manager will work to understand customer needs and develop relationships with key decision makers. Once a customer need develops into a sales opportunity the Account Manager would be responsible for driving/leading the sales pursuit utilizing the Experitec Selling Methodologies. The Account Manager must exhibit high sales ambition and be willing to burden the majority of the sales strategy development and execution with leverage of the Account Manager’s customer organizational knowledge. The Account Manager should be an expert in being able to differentiate our technology and services against our competition and be able to obtain the recognized value we deliver from our customers. Our customers are largely manufacturing facilities and Upstream Oil & Gas. We serve many different industries including chemical, power generation, refining, oil & gas, food & beverage, pulp &paper, and water.

What is the Account Manager responsible for?

The goal of the Account Manager is to be a profit improver, a partner who has expertise and experience in the customers’ businesses and in the industries we serve. The Account Manager shall be able to help the customer increase the amount, speed, and certainty of the profits that they contribute to their corporation through our technology and services. To provide this service, the Account Manager must understand the customers’ business, industry best practices, Emerson’s technology portfolio, value statements for our solutions, and communicate the value effectively to generate profit for both the customer and Emerson.

The scope of solutions will be primarily those of Emerson Automation Solutions, Experitec services, and Alliance Partner Solutions as required in meeting or exceeding the customers profit targets. Therefore, they must have/develop a solid understanding of Experitec’s and Emerson’s capabilities and offerings.

Typical work assignments include:

  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the customers’ business, including their products and processes, markets served, key customers, industry dynamics, and their operational success criteria for the solutions we provide.
  • Understand and be able to articulate key benchmark and industry standards to the key decision makers at our customer sites.
  • Identify and develop business relationships with key customer decision makers and specifically resources at the production unit level management level.
  • Establish fluency and be able to articulate the Value Proposition to our customers as it relates to their critical success factors, key performance indicators, and key initiatives in support of the account plans, sales strategies, and project justifications.
  • Document and capture recognized business value through the Quantified Business Result process.
  • Develop and maintain a targeting process for opportunity identification and prioritization for the Experitec Competitive Displacement Program within the geographic region.
  • Coordinate and motivate customers for mindshare on the content.
  • Lead the identification and qualification of selected opportunities and work with the customer to further understand their needs and key decision makers for opportunities.
  • Utilize the Sales Performance International Solution Selling Methodologies for all pursuits.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a pursuit strategy that maximizes the revenue and profit generation for Experitec in alignment with latent and active customer needs.
  • Lead and coach the inside sales and operations team for execution of the sales strategy.
  • Act as a scope architect and take ownership of the proposal generation with use of sales support resources as necessary to support the pursuit.
  • Ownership of development of the Value Proposition.
  • Close the business by gaining acceptance that the selected solution can only be provided by Emerson and/or Experitec.
  • Maintain the sales and opportunity funnel activity within the provided software platform for progress tracking information.
  • Work jointly with other Experitec business units to develop execution plans based upon customer needs and to maximize Experitec profitability.
  • Communication of sales best practices and Value Propositions to other sales resources based upon lessons learned throughout the pursuit
  • Understand the products and service offerings associated with our solutions including key differentiators and weaknesses in comparison to our competition.
  • Effectively utilize Emerson and Alliance Partner resources and service providers to develop the customer’s differentiated buying Vision in order to maximize Experitec revenue generation and profitability.
  • Maintain close and active engagement with Sales Management to ensure sales activities are in alignment with the strategic objectives.

The Application Engineer must evaluate process conditions and select the most effective product to meet a customer’s needs as well as provide the most value, long service life, and flexibility for future requirements. They must also assist the Experitec Account Managers in planning and providing solution-based services, new products, and application solutions specific to customer’s requirements.
Typical work assignments include:
Consult with Process Engineers, Operations Managers, and plant maintenance resources to create/capture value in the effective selection of our valve products and services.
Develop a solid understanding of customer’s production systems, applications, process and the role & impact of our valve technologies and services have in meeting their goals.
Identify opportunities for us to analyze and recommend solutions to valve performance problems and maintenance related performance issues.
Increase customers’ awareness of value received in effective use of Emerson valves and MRO services.
Identify, build, and maintain relationships with customers’ maintenance engineers, operations staff, and sponsors who influence the purchase and use of our Fisher/Emerson valves and MRO services.
Provide product proposals that are in the best interest of the customer, consistent with both Customer and Experitec goals.
Proactively look for opportunities to improve our effectiveness in delivering value and meeting customers’ requirements through improved processes and training.
Thoroughly understand the technology, products, services, and the strategic direction of Experitec, Fisher Controls and Emerson Process Management surrounding control valves, automated on/off valves and related technologies & services.
Effectively work with factory resources & product specialists, service providers and sales operations to develop and deliver solutions and value to our customers.
Proactively work to help develop and support the account strategies lead by our Account Managers.
Effectively recommend and communicate solutions utilizing valve technologies for customers.
Contribute to our Strategic Account Management and Solution Selling processes for our selected most valuable and most growable customers (MVCs & MGCs).

The Customer Service Specialist is a part of our Operations side of the business and responsible for providing excellent service to both internal resources and external guests. This role will serve as the customer service subject matter expert, working closely with our Order Management, Shared Services, and Sales departments. Our customers are largely manufacturing facilities and Upstream Oil & Gas. We serve many different industries including chemical, power generation, refining, oil & gas, food & beverage, pulp & paper, and water.

What is the Customer Service Specialist responsible for?

In this role, you will direct incoming calls, look up customer orders, enter orders and requests for quotes, and handle a wide range of administrative and executive support related tasks while being able to work independently with little or no supervision. You will learn about Experitec’s different business units, and the products and services we provide to our industrial customers. You will work with staff and customers at all levels in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining personable, flexible, proactive, positive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism. The prime objective of this role is to provide excellent service to ensure all customers have positive experiences with the Customer Service Team.

Typical Work Assignments Include

  • Interact with customers via telephone, email, online chat, or in person to provide support and information on products or services.
  • Answer company phones and distribute calls.
  • Field requests for quotes and purchase orders and enter them into our business system for routing.
  • Field customer questions and complaints; when the issue is beyond the representative’s knowledge, forwards to the assigned specialist or other appropriate staff.
  • Ensure that appropriate actions are taken to resolve customer problems and concerns.
  • Work with the Emerson system to navigate customer training.
  • Manage office supplies and replenish inventory including promotional items for all offices.
  • Schedule conference rooms and coordinate in office meals for meetings.
  • Mail invoices to customers.
  • Communicate important employee announcements.
  • Manage social media accounts including Facebook, LinkedIn, and Glassdoor.
