Compliance at Gemini is a team dedicated to managing the next generation of financial crime prevention in a complex and evolving regulatory environment. The Role: Analyst, Compliance (Institutional Onboarding)

Gemini is looking for a smart, friendly individual who is organized, detail-oriented and eager to contribute to a world-class Compliance team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and quick study who is comfortable working within the fast-paced environment of a growing FinTech firm. This is a unique opportunity to make a real, immediate impact in an exciting new technology at an industry leading firm well-positioned for success.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform institutional and retail customer on-boarding using CDD and EDD research efforts and strategies as well as utilizing sound judgment and strong decision-making.
  • Draft and send RFIs directly to customers as needed.
  • Review issues escalated by external compliance personnel.
  • Identify potential red flags at onboarding and escalate as appropriate.
  • Work cross-functionally and globally with teams across the enterprise to address compliance related issues.
  • Facilitate customer requested account modifications.
  • Perform ad-hoc special projects as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree or international equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience in the financial services industry with a focus on AML/CTF compliance.
  • Strong understanding of KYC requirements and best practices.
  • Previous experience performing customer onboarding, including assessment of customer risk.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Track record of success and results, ideally in a high-growth or entrepreneurial environment.
  • Flexible mindset and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and assist in various compliance functions as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree/certifications, e.g., JD, CAMS, CFE.
  • Working knowledge of digital asset trading and blockchain technology, including previous experience working with blockchain analytics tools.
  • Familiarity with building out Confluence pages.
  • Spanish and/or Portuguese language ability.
  • Comfort with an ever-changing regulatory landscape and fast-paced business environment.
  • Experience working with business and project management tools such as Looker and JIRA.

Salary Range: The base salary range for this role is between $66,000 – $92,000 in New York City, the State of California and the State of Washington. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development for a team of multi channel Customer Service Agents
  • Accountable for hiring, supervision, training, and development of customer support agents
  • Perform Quality Assurance Scoring of customer contacts
  • Ensure a strong understanding and fulfillment of regulatory guidelines within financial call centers
  • Assist in management of an outsourced Customer Support  to ensure customers get the same level of service from internal and outsourced customer service agents
  • Assist in generation and review of monthly reporting
  • Identify improvement opportunities in the customer experience and plan and execute activities to pursue these opportunities
  • Serve as an escalation point for vendor and customer issues
  • Assist the Head of Operations with customer support strategy and implementation as we scale the customer support function
  • Maintain procedures and process documentation
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with at least 2 years of customer support management experience.
  • Financial service experience
  • Experience with multichannel customer support
  • Experience with Zendesk
  • Ability to work in fast paced changing environments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Credit Card Customer Support experience
  • Fintech experience
