Responsibilities

TheGreat Start Team Lead/ Floateris an extension of a client’s business office staff as well as our in-house client specific training program. Representatives will perform any and all job-related duties as assigned. Representatives will provide training to staff members for all projects and positioned assigned to their role related to revenue cycle reimbursement. Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, performs a variety of duties related to customer service and self-pay recovery functions of Call Center Support Operation.  Such duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: 1) assists manager and supervisor in coordinating all activities related to PFS Follow up  2) will serve as Subject Matter Expert in all areas of assigned client project(s), and  3) reviews work of and provides feedback and training to Patient Account Reps, and 4) assists in the implementation of standards and guidelines, and 5) answers questions and routinely assists employees in area and to ensure performance goals are met, 6) reviews reimbursement to ensure payments received are timely and accurate, and 7) performs other duties as assigned by direct supervisor

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complete all business-related requests and correspondence from patients and insurance companies. Reviews work of team members and provides training and feedback as needed.
  • Audits patient accounts as requested Assists management with coordinating activities.
  • Train new employees and facilitates project specific refresher training sessions
  • Performs functions assigned by Supervisor/Manager to ensure team objectives are met.
  • Manages and reports on task dashboard and work queue (desk) daily/weekly/monthly
  • Provide continuing education for current employees.
  • Assists employees and answers questions to make certain team’s performance goals are met.
  • Assists in the implementation of standards and guidelines.
  • Prepares daily productivity, call and payment reports
  • Provides timely feedback to appropriate management
  • When working AR responsible for working on up to 40 Accounts Per Day

Qualifications

  • Required:
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Three to five years of experience in the medical billing field

Managing Consultants own client engagements from cultivation to completion.  In this role, you will be accountable for the activities of the project team and support the day-to-day management of the client relationship.   •  Incorporate market forecasts and scenario planning in financial analysis
  •  Develop client-facing deliverables and present results both internally and externally (in person and via video-conferencing)

Qualifications

Required:

  •  Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university

  • 3+ years FP&A (Financial Planning and Analysis) experience within healthcare, including demonstrated financial and analytical skills

Responsibilities

The Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Specialist is responsible for conducting concurrent inpatient chart reviews on assigned units to ensure documentation is complete and accurate at the time of discharge to properly reflect the severity of illness and resources consumed for timely, accurate and compliant coding. Initiates queries in a professional, non-leading manner to clarify ambiguous or conflicting documentation, obtain specificity of diagnoses, and connect treatment performed to a diagnosis (if known). Performs coding, working DRG assignment and enters all review activity into tracking software. Perform any and all related job duties as assigned. This posiiton is located in South Los Angeles and will be a telecommute position (on site and remote).  The CDI Specialist must be based in Los Angeles. Relocation will be provided. 

  • Conducts daily, concurrent review of inpatient records on assigned unit(s), to ensure complete and accurate physician and or clinician documentation is present at the time of discharge for accurate, timely, and compliant coding.
  • Reviews daily admissions to assigned unit, performs initial code assignment for a working DRG and completes CDI software data entry for initial and follow up case reviews (or worksheet to include code and DRG assignment) and submits to Program Assistant
  • Updates “working DRG” as documentation supports or physician query answer supports a change in the DRG assignment.
  • Communicates to the CDI Coordinator when volume of daily review assignments is too high or low so that CDI Coordinator can assist in adjusting review assignments amongst the team.
  • Initiates compliant physician queries when documentation is confusing, ambiguous or missing and follows up with MD to seek immediate response to query (utilizing the following AHIMA practice briefs as a guide: “Managing an Effective Query Process”, October 2008 and “Guidance for Clinical Documentation Improvement Programs”, May 2010).
  • Ensures the query verbiage is in no way leading or suggestive in tone and is supported by the documentation in the record to include clinical indications and treatment provided.
  • Performs follow up on incomplete physician queries to obtain an answer while the patient is stlll in house.
  • Analyzes complete clinical documentation from a compliance, coding and/or reimbursement perspective including rationale for the initiation, discontinuation and/or adjustment of treatment modalities utilized in the care of the patient.
  • Assures physician has sufficient documentation for corresponding diagnosis of all monitored, evaluated or treated illnesses and initiates queries as appropriate.
  • Identifies possible documentation risk areas, including missing orders, patient identification, legibility issues and poor documentation trends.
  • Provides daily feedback and education to physicians on the quality of documentation and presents examples of how physician documentation can improve compliance based on CMS guidelines.
  • Promotes accurate DRG classification according to standards set forth by CMS (Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services) to reduce documentation-related-risks associated with DRG-based payers.
  • Assures record reflects the patient’s severity of illness and risk of mortality (ROM) to improve accuracy of hospital case mix index, national comparisons and physician profiles.
  • Possesses a clear understanding of MS DRG guidelines and required documentation components for accurate code/DRG assignment.
  • Keeps abreast of Coding Clinic updates, to include code changes, MCC and CC changes and/or changes in the DRG system to effectively educate DI team and physician and clinical team members regarding changes.
  • Keeps abreast of Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) review activity to avoid potential risk for the facility.
  • Assists in developing reports as needed for the review and analysis of facility specific documentation and reimbursement patterns
  • Assists in development of physician and/or clinician education
  • Provides accurate and up-to-date information on regulatory and reimbursement requirements
  • Works closely with case management, physicians, clinicians, and departments to improve communication regarding documentation and reimbursement issues
  • Investigates and responds timely to questions regarding documentation or coding issues.
  • Educates physicians, clinicians, and departments on documentation, coding, and reimbursement guidelines and facilitates understanding of payer and regulatory requirements
  • Attends scheduled physician education/training sessions on clinical units and/or MD offices as requested on a daily and/or weekly basis.
  • Builds trustworthy and strong relationship with client staff, physician base and Guidehouse staff.
  • Stays current on documentation & billing requirements to ensure compliance with all regulatory and governmental agencies
  • Observes confidentiality and safeguards all patient-related information.
  • Serves as a role model for all co-workers by setting an example of high standards in dress, conduct, cooperation and job performance
  • Meets or exceeds established quality and productivity standards.
  • Checks e-mail system at a minimum of three times per day: beginning, middle, and end of working day.
  • Assists with coding backlogs and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • At least one of the following: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, MD or MD Equivalent, RN.
  • Must maintain credential while employed.
  • Requires at least 3 years medical records review or acute care hospital coding experience
  • Familiarity with Encoder preferred and DRG assignment.
  • Strong clinical understanding of disease process.
  • Maintains current working knowledge of Coding Clinic Guidelines and federal updates to DRG system.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and disease processes.

Responsibilities

The Insurance Patient Account Representative is an extension of a client’s business office staff. Representatives are responsible for taking in-coming and making out-going calls to patients and insurance companies to resolve account balances. All client policies and procedures are followed. Representatives will perform any and all job-related duties as assigned.

This position will first start as remote, then transition to the Lewisville, TX office in the near future.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complete all business-related requests and correspondence from patients and insurance companies.
  • Responsible for working on 40-70 Accounts Per Day
  • Complete all assigned projects in a timely manner.
  • Assist client and patients in all requested tasks.
  • Communicate to Guidehouse management areas of concern or areas of improvement.

Client Responsibility

  • Research and respond to all patient inquiries received by telephone and mail.
  • Update patient demographic information and initiate account adjustments.
  • Try to resolve account balances to zero prior to accounts being forwarded to an outside agency for collections.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma minimum
  • 1+ year’s medical provider experience working with UB04, appeals & denials.

Preferred:

  • PC skills in a Windows environment are required. Knowledge and utilization of desktop applications to include Word and Excel is essential.
  • Ability to initiate and follow through on projects and work independently with minimal supervision required.
