Full Job Description

Interactive Brokers (“IBKR”) is seeking an entry-level Operations Associate to join our Securities Lending Department. The position entails a variety of critical post-trade functions for securities lending, including (but not limited to) trade support, trade reconciliation, mark-to-market processing and buy-in management, along with various analysis projects. IBKR has a global footprint, offers clients access to a broad and diverse set of products and has a passion for technology and automation. The Securities Lending Department presents a unique opportunity to learn many facets of the brokerage business and offers the candidate exciting potential for growth.

IBKR has developed state-of-the-art proprietary clearing and back-office systems. In this role, you will operate these ever-evolving systems to solve unique and challenging problems in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. Responsibilities:

  • Hiring, training, motivating and evaluating the cashiering staff members.
  • Developing functional requirements for automating Cashiering processes to handle higher volumes with lower error rates.
  • Developing, implementing, improving and enforcing sound policies and department controls to increase accuracy and efficiency.
  • Overseeing core department activities, such as client receipts and client disbursements, to ensure that they are completed accurately and on time.
  • Compiling, analyzing and reporting volume statistics, reconciliation and control reports to senior management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or analytical sciences
  • 10-15 years of corporate banking experience with an emphasis on customer payments
  • Extensive knowledge of the SWIFT messaging standards and the payment systems, such as FED wire, CHIPS, ACH, SEPA, and BACS.
  • Strong understanding of fraud prevention and AML standards
  • Strong managerial skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks under the pressure of completing assignments within time constraints
  • High degree of comfort and fluency with computers and technology, some basic programming knowledge (e.g., VBA) is a plus
