Full Job Description

Executive Office Internship

This Executive Office Intern will participate in learning experiences to gain a better understanding of, and skills in, administration, organization, and communication within the Executive Office. This is a 12 hour/week internship to run from September 1, 2021 through May 30, 2022.

This position is required to be in-person at InterVarsity’s National Service Center in Madison, Wisconsin. The individual in this role will be required to follow office COVID guidelines (mask, social distancing, etc.).

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be a maturing disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ
  • Participate in experiential learning through assigned projects and tasks
  • Participate in team meetings, project brainstorming, and evaluation sessions
  • Provide administrative support to the President and Executive Office Director
  • Assist with logistical tasks related to the Executive Office
  • Complete special projects as assigned by supervisor, Executive Office Director, and/or President
  • Assist the President in social media posting, staying relevant to both internal and external audiences
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation/materials pertaining to Board meetings
  • Assist with on-site Board meeting operational needs as requested
  • Follow Executive Office guidelines for prioritizing, organizing, and screening of incoming communications including email, voice mail, and postal mail

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Annually affirm Intervarsity’s Statement of Agreement
  • A college or university degree or enrollment in a degree program (preferably in related field)
  • Experience with InterVarsity as a student or a staff member preferred
  • Commitment to growing relationships with God, his Word, and his people, including the church
  • Familiarity with Microsoft software applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with social media platforms and ability to record and produce short communication videos
  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail

  • Interview, transcribe, and script write as assigned
  • Participate in the production and post-production process of assigned projects
  • Assist with videotaping, editing, animating and taking on other production projects as assigned

Participate in the ministries of InterVarsity:

  • Stay informed of trends in the communication arts and keep up on contemporary media, images, and ideas
  • Stay current on computer systems and other media skills

  • Raise personal support at the level assigned by supervisor
  • Keep expenditures within budget
  • Develop and maintain a small group of people who covenant to support your ministry with prayer
  • Communicate regularly with donors and prayer support group 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Annually affirm InterVarsity’s Statement of Faith

  • Commitment to growing relationships with God, his Word, his people, and the church
  • Experience with or knowledge of InterVarsity or the ability to quickly understand and be committed to the purposes of InterVarsity and 2100 Productions
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1 year of experience in video production, design or photography
  • Demonstrated skill in producing videos and basic knowledge of the video production process
  • Basic skill levelin the area of live event production
  • Electronic communication and/or technical expertise, plus the creative skills needed to communicate concepts with visual media
  • Ability to work well as part of a team as well as ability to be a self-starter and work independently
  • Willingness to participate in “group art” and accept critique from numerous people
  • Strong organization and time management skills. Ability to work well in a deadline driven environment
  • Ability to relate well and maintain good communication with co-workers, field staff and other teams at the NSC
