Key Responsibility

  • Install, patch and maintain various database architecture including Oracle, MySQL, MariaDB and MS SQL.
  • Tune and monitor all Database instances.
  • Approve all production schema changes.
  • Approve changes to database design.
  • Control all migrations schema objects
  • Design and implement a backup and recovery system.
  • Implement and maintain clustering including high availability.
  • Analyze, size, and implement databases.
  • Assist Data Center Administration Integration team on database activities such as installation, databases creation and migration plan execution.
  • Initiate new databases and perform database migrations as needed.
  • Assist the integration team on benchmark and volume testing
  • Assist service desk team in analyzing database problems.
  • Report and follow problem escalation to 3rd party vendor if applicable
  • Responsible for maintenance window activities
  • Create and manage Oracle database from startup through shutdown.
  • Manage DB and systems security.
  • Accomplish capacity planning for current system’s growth and new systems.
  • Develop and deploy backup and recovery procedures.  Maintain procedures to reflect change in the environment.
  • Monitor system performance.
  • Install and upgrade new releases of the RDBMS.
  • Install and upgrade new modules of Oracle Applications.
  • Manage indexes, space and lock contention.
  • Configure the system for future network environments with Web access and additional software.
  • Configure, tune and troubleshoot Oracle SQL*Net in a client/server environment.
  • Manage printers in a network environment.
  • Use diagnostic and performance tools to tune the application.
  • Communicate effectively with MIS staff in the US and in France.
  • Be available for after-hours support of computer systems.
  • Mange maintenance contracts for Oracle RDBMS.
  • Work closely with systems administrator for installations, support and problem resolution.
  • Evaluate and deploy database management and tuning tools.
  • Manage Oracle Applications in a 24X7 environment (10.7, 11.0) for US, Mexico and Canada.
  • Lead technical projects.
  • Participate in projects to provide database management support.
  • Manage NCA applications architecture environment.
  • Maintain separate production, development, and test environments; refresh databases as necessary.
  • Provide training and guidance for developers for query optimization.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • 7 to 10 years’ Experience as MS SQL DBA and/or Oracle DBA
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good analytical, problem solving, facilitation and negotiation skills
  • Multi-task oriented with good organizational skills
  • Positive team-oriented attitude
  • Ability to work well under pressure

Preferred Qualifications

  • Oracle DBA Certification
  • MS SQL DBA Certification
  • MariaDB experience

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to left and carry a minimum of 25lbs.
  • Must have the ability to use a variety of hand tools to test/replace PC components
  • Must be able to perform repetitive motion with wrists, hands and fingers for 6 hours per day (up to ¾  of the day)

The responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Coats surface of parts, assemblies, and finished products with protective or decorative materials such as paint, varnish, enamel, lacquer, dope, or stain using spray gun.
  • Selects and mixes coating material; coats areas inaccessible to hand sprayer using brush or roller.
  • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

Overall Summary

  • Provides technical guidance and instruction to finish shop personnel within their skill set.
  • Works at the same sort of tasks as those he/she leads; maintains a working toolbox, if required, as a mechanic.
  • Performs activities in a variety of areas related to the daily operations of manufacturing including trouble shooting and resolution of part and process issues, and process improvement actions.
  • Ensures close coordination between day shift and night shift to provide seamless manufacturing processing between shifts.

  • Participate in engineering control system development tasks including preliminary design, design, integration and formal testing.
  • Full software life cycle application development, use of waterfall, spiral or agile methods.
  • Designing, coding and debugging applications in various software languages.
  • Software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software review, identification of code metrics, system risk analysis and software reliability analysis.
  • Object-oriented Design and Analysis (OOA and OOD)
  • Software modeling and simulation
  • Front end graphical user interface design
  • Software testing and quality assurance
  • Performance tuning, improvement, balancing, usability & automation.
  • Support, maintain and document software functionality
