Drive Online Engagement

Responsibilities

In this role you will work on projects with some of the following attributes: 

  • Build dynamic and reliable user experiences using React, Angular, JavaScript/Typescript, Node.js, and CSS 
  • Big data using modern technologies such as Apache Spark, No SQL Cosmos DB, and Blobs 
  • Use machine learning to build robust systems for anomaly detection and analysis 
  • Use Kubernetes and other container based tools to develop highly scalable cloud based micro-services  
  • Full stack web and application development using technologies and languages such as C#, Azure, .NET

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:  

  • 5+ years of professional industry software development experience using C#, Python, Java, C++, or other OO language 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience 
  • Experience/Exposure with full stack software development and/or data processing including React, Angular, TypeScript, Node.js, SQL, Spark 
  • Strong problem solving, design, coding, and debugging skills

Responsibilities

About this role:

We are looking for an entrepreneurial mindset and creative problem-solving skills to apply research to help answer business questions along the customer acquisition journey.  In this role, you will work dynamically across research and insights teams and commercial product marketing teams to surface and provide insights to Lifecycle Programs. The Lifecycle Program teams are responsible for connecting with potential and new customers along their product adoption journey. You will work collaboratively with product marketers (from businesses such as Microsoft 365, Azure, Teams, and Dynamics 365) and insights professionals to deliver audience, organizational, and content insights that impact how we acquire and manage customers across the Microsoft portfolio.

In this role, you will:

  • Build cross-team relationships with product marketing and lifecycle management teams.
  • Collaborate across the Research + Insights team to bring relevant insights to our stakeholders.
  • Frame business needs into research objectives, projects, and programs.
  • Become skilled at managing research from inception through delivery.
  • Work with stakeholders to translate insights into action
  • Be part of a team that explores, innovates, and invents new research approaches.
  • Learn to leverage a range of tools and data types
  • Collaborate across a wide and diverse group of business partners and research teams across Microsoft.

Qualifications

Relevant experience:

  • 2+ years of market research, marketing, sales, project/product management, consulting experience or relevant work experience.
  • Being proactive in building relationships and collaborating across teams.
  • Ability to question stated problems, understand those problems, and suggest actions to solve them.
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting data (e.g., survey, qualitative etc.)
  • Good communicator through written, verbal, and data visualization, and storytelling skills
  • Strong project management and/or organizational skills
  • Proficiency with productivity software (e.g., Microsoft 365/Office 365, Google Apps/Workspaces) and communication/collaboration platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Slack, Zoom, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree or in lieu of degree 6+ years experience in market research

Extra Credit:

  • Experience working with vendors (or working in a research vendor) to design and execute different types of research approaches (qualitative, quantitative, social analytics, data analytics).
  • Experience with commercial (B2B) market research, products, product management.
  • Experience researching or developing purchase/user journeys.
  • Experience with any of these: analytics software (e.g., SPSS, R, SAS), SaaS products, pro/low code development tools, project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project/Planner/Lists, Smartsheet), or business intelligence software (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
