Full Job Description

At the Alliance Innovation Lab Silicon Valley, our researchers, developers, designers and innovators are exploring and designing the future of mobility for the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. We are looking for an experienced Operations Senior Manager in Sunnyvale, CA to oversee the day to day operations of our Innovation Lab and ensure that the organization runs smoothly and delivers efficient services that meet the expectations and needs of the employees and management.

From dealing with daily office matters to managing larger facility projects and setting operations efficiency goals, the Operations Senior Manager‘s role is pivotal to the success and growth of the lab.
To do so, you will work closely with the lab management team and directors, facility management, health & safety, HR, and finances departments of headquarters.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead facility management & office administration to create a healthy and positive workplace
  • Collaborate with the lab management team and directors to improve the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to enhance our collaborative research capacities and business innovation outputs
  • Initiate, design, and implement effective & efficient lab office procedures & workplace transformation activities to foster employee satisfaction
  • Responsible for the measurement and effectiveness of the lab operational infrastructure and processes
  • Manage day-to-day activities for smooth and efficient office operations
  • Review budgets and manage operational expenses, prepare financial forecast and communicate monitoring reports with headquarters
  • Oversee budget and resources allocation for projects and overall facility
  • Maintain office supplies and inventories, organize catering and oversee facility maintenance/repairs needs
  • Manage relationship with partners & vendors and represent the lab in negotiation as needed
  • Provide operational support and leadership to the planning and execution of lab events like monthly meetups, media events, executive demos & seminars
  • Motivate and lead a high-performance operation team required for members to succeed in transforming the new lab into a healthy and attractive workplace environment; support onboarding, engagement, retention, and off-boarding initiatives as needed

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of professional experience as Ops manager or Chief of staff
  • Passion for people and processes and a good understanding of employee/management requirements
  • Ability to see the big picture as well as the finer details
  • Strong leadership skills, including effective time management, prioritizing and delegation
  • Systematic organized approach to work
  • Brilliant communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong process and continuous improvement skills
  • Ability to lead, coach, inspire, support and motivate your team

Bonus Points:

  • Hands on experience with change management
  • Experience of working in a collaborative research lab

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in business administration, accounting or related field
