Duties

  • Analyze SMA operations and document information management requirements, including requirements for data collection, data analysis, and the identification of required information products and their associated use cases.
  • Examine system performance and user activity metrics to confirm the computing resources needed to support SMA information management needs (CPU, Memory, Storage, etc.).
  • Perform trade studies/evaluations of available information management solutions.

    Qualifications

    In addition to the Basic Education Requirement (in the Education section below), to qualify for this position you must meet the requirements below and have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above.

    GS-15: To qualify at the GS-15 level, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:

The defense prevents adversaries from gaining access to sensitive classified national security information. In support of this mission, Security Information Specialists are integrated into the personnel, physical, and counterintelligence security disciplines to ensure highly sensitive information utilized in all security processes are protected and handled in accordance with all applicable laws and policies. Interfacing with NSA and other agencies, these specialists are the backbone of and the customer service representatives for the Security and Counterintelligence team. Security Information Specialists work in a myriad of offices. The responsibilities of a Security Information Specialist include, but are not limited to: Track/manage highly sensitive security processes Maintain highly sensitive security information, disclosed only to authorized recipients, in appropriate formats, and within constraints of relevant laws (e.g., the Privacy Act and FOIA). Job Summary

Security and Counterintelligence is responsible for the protection of NSA/CSS information, people, and facilities worldwide. In support of this mission, Security personnel oversee the development, installation, and maintenance of physical security systems. Security personnel help maintain integral elements of an overall security theory, posture, and infrastructure designed to efficiently deter, delay, detect and identify threats to NSA people, resources and facilities.

Salary Range: $74,950 – $116,788 (Full Performance) *The qualifications listed are the minimum acceptable to be considered for the position. Salary offers are based on candidates’ education level and years of experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager/organization regarding the work level for the position. Entry is with a Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree plus 1 year of relevant experience or a Doctoral degree and no experience. A high school diploma or GED plus 7 years of relevant experience, or an Associate’s degree plus 5 years of relevant experience may be considered for individuals with in-depth experience that is clearly related to the position. Degree must be in a Business Field (e.g., Program Management, Business Management, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, and Economics) or a Technical Field (e.g., Engineering, Systems Management, Computer Science, and Information Technology). Relevant experience must be in program management (e.g., trend and forecast analysis, earned value management, cost benefit analysis, balanced scorecard, activity based costing, life cycle cost estimating, activity based budgeting, and gap analysis). Managing DoD and IC sponsored programs and DAWIA I in program management or equivalent certification is preferred.
