PRINCIPAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Accountable for employee safety

  • Models the appropriate safe work practices and prioritizes safety above all other metrics.

  • Develops and achieves personal objectives that stretch self and align to the Department, Plant, Division, and Company goals.
  • Success will be measured by the Production Supervisor’s ability to coordinate with peer group to collectively achieve operational excellence in safety, quality, cost control, inclusion, engagement, inter-department cohesion, and compliance.
  • Is a positive change agent encouraging and closely involved in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) efforts to ensure shift culture mirrors plant initiatives.
  • Assists in developing their staff understanding of the equipment, process, and the effects of their actions up and downstream to their area. Ensures a macro and micro level understanding of the plant processes and the inter-relation to the individual work area.
  • Ensures Operator training materials are maintained up to date through routine audit and management of change process input to Training and Development (T&D) Pillar Leader when changes occur in process settings, equipment, etc..
  • Develops and manages succession planning processes. Perform and ensure proper documentation of training and cross-training of all employees as necessary to maintain a flexible work environment capable of meeting varied demands.
  • Support TPM efforts on the shift to support completion of pillar objectives for each of the TPM Pillars; AM, PM, EHS, FI, QM, T&D, EM, and OA.

  • Actively manages the continued training, development, and growth of all personnel.
  • Provides daily management of timekeeping systems to ensure payroll accuracy is maintained.

  • Provides daily management of production data recording systems (e.g. SAP, POP, etc.) to ensure accurate inventory and reporting. Perform audits daily to ensure data accuracy of all inputs (e.g. check sheets, layered process audits, computer inputs, etc.).
  • Maintains professional and motivating communication skills. Encourage all employees to build strong working relationships and communication through sharing, respect, candor, integrity, innovation, accountability, and fun.
  • Represent the entire management team when operating on and off shift.

Understand product quality; Use people and systems to drive improved productivity

  • Prepare for and lead pre-shift huddle to cover important and relevant topics including safety, quality, and performance.
  • Reviews all Product Characteristic test results each shift with operators and ensures corrective actions are taken as needed.
  • Ensures maintenance crafts are supporting operations, provides assistance and inputs maintenance work requests as needed.
  • Ensures all production process equipment is operating and ensures appropriate personnel are addressing process equipment deficiencies.
  • Coordinates and facilitates job changes to meet the production schedule and customer expectations. Verifies machines are set up correctly via sign off.
  • Audits shift team job functions to ensure compliance to Standardized Operating Procedures and maintain record of findings.
  • Ensures hold material is segregated, retested, released, or scrapped as directed.
  • Maintains all implemented 5S improvements and ensures housekeeping expectations.
  • Track employee attendance and implement corrective actions as required.
  • Monitor and enforce all Plant and Company policies and procedures. Implements and documents correction actions as needed.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

This person is a member of one of the crews that operate the roofing production line.  You will work with your shift to safely produce high quality roofing shingles in a fast pace continuous operation environment.  This role is essential to the successful operations of the Portland Roofing plant. This is an hourlyentry level position reporting to the applicable Operations Front Line Leader.

The current shift schedule is Monday-Friday on 8-hour Day, Swing, and Graveyard shifts.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES                                                                                                                             

  • Lives the Owens Corning Safety Stand and meets all safety requirements. Safety is a condition of employment.
  • Participates in the safety, quality, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and housekeeping programs as established within the plant.
  • Complies with all plant rules and safety regulations.
  • Performs cleanup duties at workstations through shift and before end of shift.
  • Able to certify on forklift operations
  • Able to follow and understand Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
  • Willing and able to assist other operators when needed
  • Must perform up-time and down-time PM’s (Preventive Maintenance)
  • Able to properly use a tape measure to conduct product measurements at regular intervals
  • Maintains strong communication with appropriate line section operators
  • Communicate at shift changes key production information
  • Understands the needs of the customer and takes action to address those needs.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Composites Rebar Supply Chain Leader is accountable for developing the raw material and supply chain strategies for global Rebar to create value, efficiently supply customers, drive global raw material synergy, supplier management, risk mitigation, continuous improvement and supplier driven innovation for realized value to the Composites Rebar business. This role is responsible for managing the full supply chain, after order entry through customer delivery, across the regional matrix for structural and flatwork businesses, to create an optimized supply chain and mitigate risk. The position will drive a virtual team of internal and external resources to interpret key stakeholder requirements, and leverage actionable data analytics to evaluate strategies, develop options, and execute tactics to deliver sustainable supply and finished goods solutions . The incumbent will work closely with business development, finance, R&D, supplier and technical teams for S&OP planning, management and customer execution. A successful candidate must have exceptional analytical skills and the initiative to take action. Facilitating change and building partnerships with multiple functions is critical, and order execution for the construction industry experience is strongly preferred. This role also serves as primary contact for OC’s Strategic Rebar business leaders to develop, deepen and maintain trusted and collaborative relationships with stakeholders to ensure Supply Chain is seen as a valued partner and appropriately involved in business decisions. The position is also acting as leader to the Logistics team, for planning and execution of an optimized logistics/warehouse strategy. Performance for the role will be measured against specific sourcing metrics (on time to deliver, value creation, working capital, et. al) and the development of a strong external market perspective across multiple sub categories for GFRP Rebar markets.

Job Responsibilities

  • Live the Safety stand, adhere to the safety responsibilities.

    • Implement a personal safety action plan and review with leader
  • Trusted Business Partner

    • Owns the strategies of scheduling, purchasing inbound materials, warehouse and transportation.
    • Works direclty with the BD teams to supply customer orders.
    • Directly owns the strategic build and direction of the S&OP on a rolling 18-month horizon.
    • Tie the S&OP to the plant capacity capabilities to drive strategic manufacturing and sourcing decisions.
    • Works directly with the suppliers to convert the high-level ops plan into a direct production schedule.
    • Repsonsible for inventory accuracy and accountability.
    • Support the upgrades for the Quote to Production process improvements using, Variable Material Codes, CRM, SAP and Aspen Scheduler.
    • Works directly with Sourcing to optimize material procurement and cost down strategies.
    • Manages and drives support and strategic direction for PO management and payment for all vendor supplied materials, dotted line leadership to the plant purchasing/planner/scheduler.
    • Directly manages the TSS to provide the leadership required to optimize transportation, planning, packaging, turnaround, cost optimization and delivery accuracy. This includes material receipts through goods delivered to the customer site.
  • Owns the full scale of the supply chain advancements and developments.

    • Develop strategic decisions on material handling and storage to allow for customer direct, 1 step, 2 step and Pro Desk distribution models.
    • Define and develop key operating procedures for Supply Performance and waste removal.
    • Define the SC aspects of the service models for our customers, based on standard or non-standard orders:
    • Drive cost down in material management by working to develop Price/Mix strategies, reducing waste and job change down time.
    • Measure then analyze key metrics such as, Material Availability, Customer Confirmation Accuracy and On Time Delivery to Promise.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or related field is required
  • Five plus years of supply chain and sourcing or relevant construction business or commercial experience (engineering, operations, finance, general management) with progressive responsibilities
  • Project management skills that drive impact, deliver strong results and lead change
  • Demonstrated strategy development and results in packaging, direct materials or related space

Full Job Description

The Senior Supply Chain Sourcing Lead in Customer Operations leads a team of specialists who perform daily activities related to the processing and analysis of service failures for the Building Materials Group (BMG) in North America. The position is primarily responsible for the day to day execution of responding to customer dissatisfaction in addition to carrying out long term strategies that lead to process improvement and ultimately a reduction in customer experience failures.

The Senior Supply Chain Sourcing Lead is an integral partner in organization and is relied upon as an advocate for our customers. The position collaborates closely with members of the Commercial Sales team, Treasury, Finance, Price Strategy, in addition to the Integrated Supply Chain & Operations. The position reports directly to the GBS Centralized Order Management & Technology Leader.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

MANAGING DAILY OPERATIONS

  • Communication—ensuring visibility to and understanding of performance metrics, key messages, and daily priorities
  • Performance Management—coaching and developing employees; correcting performance issues; rewarding and recognizing performance
  • Decision Making—determining operational priorities, resolving issues, resource planning and talent deployment
  • Delivers Results – Leads the team to achieve day-to-day performance objectives in support of Customer Operations and Business goals, with keen emphasis on becoming our customers’ supplier of choice.
  • Develop and deliver creative plans with solutions to continuous improvement opportunities and the elimination of waste.

  • Analyze trends in service failures, drive root cause analysis and process change as appropriate.
  • Deliver reporting and visibility to via a monthly cadence to organization leaders.
  • Partner with peer team leader group in making visible a holistic customer experience point of view on top 10 strategic customers by business.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree highly preferred
  • 3-5 years professional experience in Customer Service or Customer Operations Organization
  • 3+ years in leading direct reports
