  • Purpose: To ensure appropriate checking in and checking out of guests and providing services to these guests in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Reports to: Front Office Manager Essential Functions: To be thoroughly acquainted with all check-in procedures and policies.

  • Read, initial and sign the Pre-shift and discuss open issues with Front Office Manager daily.

  • Be familiar with basic operations of PBX. Demonstrate understanding and adherence to Selling Strategy calendars by all Front Desk agents.
  • Know how to make a reservation (group or individual) Hotel Specific Essential Functions: To uphold the reputation of the hotel as a professional employee.
  • Properly use and maintain hotel equipment Make decisions that meet and exceed the expectations of the hotel.

  • Primary Objective Represents the hotel to the guest throughout all stages of the guest stay.
  • Determines a guest reservation status and identifies how long the guest will stay.
  • Helps guests complete registration cards and then assigns rooms accommodating special requests whenever possible.
  • Verifies the guest’s method of payment and follows established credit and cash handling procedures.
  • Works closely with the housekeeping department in keeping room status reports up to date and coordinates requests for maintenance and repair work.
  • Maintains guest room key control, and maintains and supervises access to safe deposit boxes.

  • Maintain accurate totals for book and other library item expenditures such as eBooks, standing orders, lease books, and direct orders; review on a regular basis; pay invoices; send expense reports to Accounts Payable; reconcile paid invoices with library ILS; reconcile paid invoices with the College system.
  • Assist patrons with library catalog and online databases, answer directional and reference questions in person and remotely via chat, email, the library online knowledgebase, the College course management system, etc.
  • Conduct student tours, scavenger hunts, new employee orientations and library instruction for non-credit and adult education programs as needed.
  • Maintain current library guide content and create new guide content as needed.
