Responsibilities:

  • Support the Accounting Manager/FP&A in providing close financial support to Operations and Project Management teams.
  • Support the development, maintenance and oversight of implementation of forecasting tools for individual projects.
  • Perform variance analysis for actual vs budget and actual vs projections.
  • Analyze past financial performance and forecasts to develop insight and identify trends in support of strategy development and implementation.
  • Identify issues or lessons-learned that can be useful in improving financial planning and forecasting accuracy.
  • Review profit and loss of contracts and work with Operations to mitigate risks.
  • Report of rolling forecast of the portfolio cost and revenue to Executive Management, for decision-making.
  • Track performance against key indicators for sustained project financial health, profitability and forecasting accuracy.
  • Report on financial health of the contracts and enterprise-wide financial status.
  • Deliver trainings to project management staff to improve their understanding of project financial management.
  • Ensure compliance with finance and accounting controls and systems.
  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks related to finance as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or relevant field.
  • 1-2 years of professional experience in financial analysis, financial management or related field.
  • Excel skills for budgeting/forecasting, financial management and/or financial analysis.
  • Ability to work with number of different teams.
  • Data analytic skills preferred.

The Accounting Coordinator/Accounts Receivable reports to the Associate Manager/Accounts Receivable and performs a variety of accounting and bookkeeping duties related to Kaizen’s contracts with federal and private-sector customers. This position is responsible for the billing of customers, the collection and application of cash receipts, the follow-up on any discrepancies or customer concerns, assisting the Associate Manager/Accounts Receivable and Senior Accounting Coordinator/Accounts Receivable with monthly close, and generating relevant reports such as the AR aging. This position also works directly with field office accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with Kaizen policies. The Accounting Coordinator/Accounts Receivable role is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious candidate looking to help lay the foundation for strong accounting systems and to grow with The Kaizen Company.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review monthly invoices for Kaizen’s clients
  • Review field office GL reports and corresponding receipt packages on a monthly basis ensuring that reporting methods and supporting documentation conform to USAID regulations and Kaizen policies
  • Maintain digital contract billing files
  • Troubleshoot accounting and finance questions from the field offices as needed
  • Utilize QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel to perform duties and responsibilities
  • Apply cash receipts to outstanding AR accounts daily
  • Research cash receipts, coding and posting of receipts
  • Gather cash balance information from the field offices weekly
  • Assist with special accounting projects, including annual audits, as requested
  • Organize and maintain retention files for required period of time
  • Experience with federal clients, including USAID and the Department of State a plus, but not required
  • Experience with QuickBooks and Deltek Costpoint a plus, but not required

Qualification and Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting or accounting support role

The purpose of the Acceleration and Competitions Execution Support Activity is to provide administrative support, design assistance, and technical expertise that will bolster USAID’s efforts to design, support and implement open innovation programs, accelerate the resultant innovations for increased uptake in an appropriate market or context, disseminate knowledge within USAID and the development community on open innovation best practices, successes, and lessons learned from both the innovations themselves and the programs supporting them. The contractor will collaborate with USAID Missions and Bureaus as well as with funders, donors, and inter-agency partners on open innovation programs and investments that achieve social rates of return.

The Kaizen Company is recruiting for a senior-level professionals with experience in communication in the international development field. The Communications Team under the ACES program will be primarily responsible for delivering robust communications, learnings, and media outreach services. The Communications Director will lead creation of communications strategy and the development of comprehensive external engagement. The Director will manage content across a range of channels, including project teams internal content management system. Under her/his leadership, the communications team will execute communications campaigns for specific challenges, programs, grantees and/or across the ACES portfolio. They would build and manage a deep bench of resources to deliver specialized communication support.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ managing communications for international development programming, including 5 years’ experience working on USAID projects
  • Ability to efficiently communicate and navigate USAID bureaus and missions to promote the program’s goals and objectives
  • Experience designing and executing communications campaigns for innovation challenges and open innovation initiatives; ability to use suite of communication tools to develop a variety of communications products
  • Understanding of acceleration services and the process of storytelling to large and international external audiences
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as communications, international development, or a related field, advanced degrees preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English mandatory, other language proficiency is a plus
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

This position is responsible for processing of payroll and some AP/GL-related tasks, such as entering T&M labor hours into Costpoint. The Accounting Coordinator role is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious candidate looking to help enhance accounting systems and to grow with Kaizen.

  • Manage monthly timesheet process and coordinate timesheet corrections with employees
  • Review and process payroll for a company with 70+ monthly timesheets
  • Maintain payroll files
  • Set up and maintain employee records in Costpoint, including salary information, leave balances, active status
  • Calculate USAID and other Agency allowances (COLA, Post Differential, etc.) for internationally based staff
  • Keep track of running list of Payroll-related actions from month-to-month
  • Track employee FSA and transportation benefits
  • Track employee leave balances
  • Serve as primary liaison with external payroll processor
  • Serve as primary point of contact for Kaizen staff who have questions Payroll-related questions
  • Prepare payroll reconciliation for coding in Costpoint

Qualifications:
