Triton leases its fleet of containers to virtually all of the world’s largest shipping lines under a variety of short-term and long-term leasing structures designed to help the shipping lines finance their growth improve their operating efficiency and better balance their global trade flows. Triton operates its business through 20 offices in 16 countries, and services its customers through a network of around 400 third party operated depot facilities spread across 46 countries.
II. FUNCTIONAL SUMMARY:
The Logistics Manager will be the main point of contact for queries relating to one-way and positioning activity of Triton’s containers into and out of North and South America. (Lease & Sale for all equipment types)
This role will support Dry Van Product Management (“DVPM”), Marketing Directors and Triton Container Sales Global Coordination (“TCS-GC”) team in prospecting and expanding logistics users. Additionally growing Triton’s geographic scope, focusing on domestic and international moves into and out of North and South America (NASA). The role reports to the Director, Dry Container Fleet, and will be part of the Global dry van product/TCS-Global Coordination Team.
III. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Development:
- Grow Triton’s domestic capabilities by onboarding new customers & marketing to promote our offerings
- Develop new ‘logistics’ type customers on US to ‘World’ trade.
- Work with marketing directors to use/promote existing customer base to move units into beneficial lease & sale markets in and out of NASA.
- Follow up on web and overseas leads within 24hrs of lead generation.
- Seek out and present flip opportunities
- Maintain an overview (& target list) of regional demand and surplus locations. Act and follow up accordingly on regular basis and distribute to DVPM and counterparts.
- Communicate directly with logistics users, ocean freight providers and vendors to provide quotations, negotiate and close transactions, under the guidance of the department Manager (DVPM).
- Collaborate with TCS-GC & Area TCS VP to maintain a matrix of demand locations and associated costs to move to demand locations.
- Gather and provide information relevant to container logistics. Ensure that the best results will be achieved in coordination with DVPM, regional sales and lease managers
- Monitor and report one-way and positioning activities to relevant colleagues.
- Assist with entering Contracts on the Web for area marketing directors
- Setting up One-Way contracts in the system and coordinating the issuing of releases internally and externally.
- Monitoring and following up on the prompt pick-up of one-way releases issued.
- Ensure required credit approval, contract signatures and up to date insurance documents are obtained where appropriate.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of Business development and selling ocean freight required.
- Experience working in container leasing, shipping or transportation industries required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Demonstrate ability to perform efficiently in a team environment.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with a positive attitude.
- Ability to simultaneously manage and prioritize multiple tasks to completion under deadlines.
- Self-motivated with strong decision-making skills.
- Ability to build and maintain good customer and vendor relations.
- Ability to travel extensively within the assigned area.
- Willingness to work outside regular office hours as reasonably required by the business.
