Position Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to support the Chair of Pharmacology in coordinating and managing various activities within the department. This position manages schedules, meeting arrangements, travel; aids with accounting functions, and provides support for special projects and reporting responsibilities as needed. The variety of responsibilities includes responding to requests for information and data, managing administrative support for committees and professional meetings, and composing/transcribing/editing correspondence. In partnership with the HR Service Center, the position participates in the appointment and reappointment of faculty and assists with promotional packets and post tenure reviews.

Essential Job Duties

Candidates will provide administrative support to the Chair of Pharmacology, including but not limited to:
Provide direct support to the Chair:
– Maintain calendar, including meetings, teaching schedule and lectures
– Schedule all travel and create itineraries
– Manage verbal and written communication to faculty and staff
– Assist department leadership with scheduling and communication
– Coordinate department functions: Contact speakers, identify venues, plan events (from start to finish), and coordinate presentations.
– Publicize department events

Coordinate recruitment

-Aids the Chair, Business Manager and HR Service Consultant in regards to recruitment, appointment, reappointment as well as promotion and post tenure reviews of faculty and EHRA non-faculty
-Arrange visits and prepare itineraries including meals, hotels and transportation
-Serve as a liaison between applicants and the search committee
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency and three years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or Associate’s degree in secretarial science, business administration, or a related discipline and one year of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience ; or Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience with event planning from start to finish. Must be computer savvy. Excellent customer service and organization skills are a must. Our ideal candidate is flexible, has a “can-do” work style and takes the initiative to improve processes and procedures. Excellent written and verbal communication. Must be welcoming to and comfortable speaking with a diverse population of internal and external individuals. Punctual and reliable.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of related experience. Experience with social media, website maintenance, PeopleSoft, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Some general accounting experiences. Professional experience in higher education. Experience with overseeing building operations/management. Comfortable negotiating with outside vendors .

The Department of Emergency Medicine at The University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill seeks a mental health professional with experience working with trauma to provide real-time intervention to patients of all ages who present to the department experiencing physical violence, sexual assault and intimate partner violence. This new member of the Emergency Department team will also engage in short-term follow-up with patients, either via phone or Telemedicine. The ideal candidate will be comfortable providing efficient same-day intervention and assessment, consultative support to teammates in the department and be willing to integrate themselves fully with the UNC Emergency Department. Applicants must be self-motivated and able to work both independently and in group settings. Additional responsibilities include participating in hospital trauma initiatives including pediatric multidisciplinary trauma conference, adult trauma conference, regional Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) meetings, outreach events, and education of providers about trauma-informed care.
The schedule is flexible, including a mix of daytime and evening hours. At least two evening shifts are requested.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Licensed or license-eligible social work (LCSW), psychology (LPC/PhD/PsyD) or marriage and family (LMFT) candidates. A background and/or training in trauma-informed care.

Preferred Qualifications: Applicants with experience in team-based care models in medical settings and applicants with trauma certification, including certified trauma responder, certified trauma services specialist, certified trauma treatment specialist, or training in trauma-focused CBT are encouraged to apply as well.

The UNC Translational and Clinical Sciences Institute (TraCS) was formed in January 2007 to serve as the academic home for the University’s Clinical and Translational Sciences Award (CTSA), a funded NIH grant. The vision of the TraCS Institute is to transform how clinical and translational science is being performed, here at UNC, throughout the State and out into the CTSA national community.
This position will serve as a team member in the TraCS Informatics and Data Science (IDSci) Service, which provides support to all of the Health Affairs schools at UNC, including the School of Medicine, School of Public Health, School of Dentistry, School of Pharmacy, School of Nursing, and UNC Health Care System. The primary role of this position is to perform advanced data mining / programming against UNC’s clinical and administrative information systems to support informatics needs for research studies and initiatives. In addition, this position will play a key role in enabling research collaborations and data integration with collaborating universities and health care systems. The Research Informatics Specialist will work directly with faculty and research staff in contributing informatics consultation, design, and development to internal and multi-site, large scale research projects.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Master’s and 1 – 2 years’ experience or Bachelor’s and 2 – 4 years’ experience or will accept a combination of related education and experience in substitution.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, health informatics, environmental health science or related degree with concentrations in life science or math is preferred. A master’s degree in clinical informatics or a relevant field is highly preferred.

This position requires two or more years of relevant work experience and:
– Expert-level knowledge of SQL programming, data modeling, and relational database systems such as Oracle, MS-SQL, MySQL, etc.
– Past experience working with health care data in an analytic capacity, particularly electronic health record and/or claims data.
– Demonstrable past experience in scoping technical projects in terms of length of time, competencies and cost. Individual will be expected to manage multiple projects at once while delivering high-quality work on time.
– Excellent written and oral business communication skills. Public speaking at meetings and conferences may be required. The ability to clearly convey technical concepts to non-technical clients is a must.
Preferred qualifications include:
– Additional programming competencies outside of SQL, such as SAS, R, or Python.
– Demonstrable understanding of regulations around clinical data used for research purposes, particularly HIPAA and Institutional Review Board rules.
– Experience working with faculty in an academic research environment.
