Purpose of Position

Performs a wide variety of property maintenance duties under the direct supervision of the Bauer House Manager, and coordinates with contractors in support of all facilities and grounds related operations at the UT System Bauer House Property.  The Bauer House is a unique, historic asset of UT System, and is the official home of the Chancellor.  The property is in the Tarrytown neighborhood of Austin, Texas, and is the site of many official functions.

Essential Functions

  • Maintains existing landscaping on the 3-acre property and oversees any contracted landscaping services.
  • Performs new landscape installations.
  • Operates various pieces of landscape equipment including mowers, leaf blowers, string trimmers and other tools necessary for landscape care.
  • Operates and maintains irrigation system to maintain health of plants, performs or reports repairs needed on irrigation systems.
  • Maintains swimming pool, including water testing, balancing and chemistry, surface skimming, vacuuming, emptying skimmer and pump baskets, checking equipment and backwash filter, and documenting work performed in the pool maintenance log.
  • Performs minor maintenance, repair and restoration work on the property; larger jobs will be outsourced at the direction of the Bauer House Manager.
  • Drives UT System-owned light duty truck, cleans and maintains vehicle.
  • Uses a procurement card to purchase equipment and supplies as needed or directed by the Bauer House Manager.
  • Provides site-access and coordinates on-property activities of any contractors and vendors engaged by the Bauer House Manager.
  • Contacts appropriate emergency responders for facility related emergencies in the absence of the Bauer House Manager.
  • Assists in monitoring security of the Bauer House property.
  • Conducts daily/weekly/monthly (as appropriate) review and provides occasional maintenance of general home systems (HVAC, appliances, etc.)
  • Assists in setting up facilities for events held at Bauer House.
  • Assists in department records management procedures.
  • Assists with inventory and surplus property program.
  • Provides backup to the Bauer House Manager, including covering during absences, acting as liaison with Facilities Management, Chancellor’s Office, family members, and External Relations.
  • Coordinates special parking requests and signage.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as directed by the Bauer House Manager to ensure operations run smoothly.
  • Occasionally performs off-site work at other UT System properties when requested by Facilities Management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in landscaping.
  • Experience in maintenance or construction.
  • Clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

Property management experience.

  • Driving is required and an essential part of the position.
  • May work in extreme temperatures.
  • May work in all weather conditions.

Purpose of Position

In the Office of General Counsel, we help our clients solve problems that affect their diverse educational, research and business missions. Formally, we are a full-service legal department composed of 31 attorneys in three practice groups: Business Law, General Law, and Health Law. In partnership with other campus-based attorneys, we serve all 13 institutions of the UT System.

The Legal Administrative Associate position is responsible providing administrative services for attorneys and other staff in the Office of General Counsel.

Enforces aseptic and sterile techniques to all aspects of patient care. Effectively and safely operate highly specialize OR equipment Able to manage unexpected or emergency situations that are commonly seen in assigned specialty population. Serves as a resource for Nurse Clinician I or II. Can manage commonly seen contingency situations that arise on the clinical unit. Provides patient care through nursing practices based upon the American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, Nursing Process and UTMB’s domains for competency and advancement: Professional Practice, Professional Performance and Association of Perioperative Nurses’ (AORN) Standards. REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

RN with two years of preferred clinical operating room, ICU, Cath Lab and other procedural areas RN experience. Must possess and maintain a current license or valid permit to practice in Texas. Current BLS required.
