Vanguard’s Endpoint Engineering team is responsible for the technologies and capabilities that deliver the end user experience to our global crew through a mix of both devices and software. We are seeking an engineer passionate about delivering a great experience to users through modern endpoint management tools and practices.   • Windows Desktop OS
  • System management tool: SCCM or Workspace ONE UEM (preferred)
  • PowerShell or similar scripting/coding experience

In this Role you will:

  • Designs, implements, and deploys platforms to support and meet business needs. Identifies and recommends opportunities for improvement and performance issue solutions.
  • Provides intermediate level technical support and monitors multiple technology domains/platforms using monitoring tools and applications. Maintains comprehensive technical knowledge of software and infrastructure platforms.
  • Develops technical standards. Tests and evaluates IT vendor products.
  • Train and mentor staff and IT project teams, providing guidance and consultation as required. Updates, writes, and maintains documentation for the department.

Quantitative Research Strategist

The Quantitative Research Strategist provides research and analytical support to the Active Rates Team within Vanguard’s Fixed Income Group, helping the team to drive alpha generation through the incorporation of quantitative research and strategies

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provides thought leadership and advocacy to identify and implement new initiatives that improve fixed income fund returns and lower their costs.
  • Works independently on research projects under the guidance of senior specialists, to support the fixed income investment decision processes, utilizing specialized quantitative skills. Generates value-add insights and provides data-driven solutions to enhance fixed income investment outcomes.
  • Investigates machine learning techniques and alternative data sources to introduce innovative techniques and methods in support of fixed income investment decision-making.
  • Independently creates and performs analysis to support fixed income investment strategies and transaction costs, creates new quantitative measures, and contributes to new investment strategies. Enhances existing models, develops data sources and processes, and communicates results.
  • Develops business acumen to bring an informed perspective to investment management teams.
  • Uses communication and interpersonal skills to integrate with the portfolio management and trading teams, adding a quantitative perspective to their day-to-day interactions with and interpretations of market developments.Tailors communication of complex concepts to the audience.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years related work experience, including three years related analytical work experience.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
  • Strong programming skills, particularly in Python is preferred.

Do you want to build your development and operational skills, leverage infrastructure as code techniques on AWS, and be part of a team helping to drive adoption of AI/ML techniques across Vanguard?

The ModelOps team will be driving forward Vanguard’s use of AI/ML technology by creating a platform other IT teams and Data Scientists across the organization can use to build and deploy their models into production. The platform will consist of components like: a build pipeline for models, APIs to call models, a model inventory, and monitoring and usage reporting.

Responsibilities as a Cloud Engineer:-

  • Creates automation that client Data Scientists and Developers can call on demand for new business uses cases to provision ML build pipelines and APIs.
  • Creates custom integrations between existing Vanguard tools, components of AWS and vendor products like Domino Data Lab.
  • Writes documentation and provide support to users of the ModelOps product.
  • Mentors and provides leadership and guidance to the technical team on developing solutions that integrate with existing IT systems and satisfies business needs.
  • Develops automated tests for functional, performance, and security testing using TDD methodology
  • Implements instrumentation for monitoring product health, business metrics, and consumption patterns
  • Thoroughly understands and complies with IT policies and procedures, especially those for quality and productivity standards that enable the team to meet established milestones.
