In this role, you will:

  • Participate in delivery of exceptional customer experience by building relationships through proactive outreach as well as proposing appropriate products, services, and digital solutions to help customers succeed financially

Schedule: 40 hrs/week. 10pm-630am, Sunday-Thursday (Nights off would be Friday and Saturday) or until work is completed.

An Operations Clerk position is the first step in a rewarding career in financial services. You’ll learn about payment processing, and the financial services industry. As the company’s second line of defense, Corporate Risk — or Independent Risk Management — provides independent oversight of risk-taking activities. Independent Risk Management establishes and maintains Wells Fargo’s risk management program and provides oversight, including challenges to and independent assessment of, the frontline’s execution of its risk management responsibilities. We manage risk according to the Risk Management Framework and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk.

Operational Risk Management (SERM) is a group directly under the Chief Risk Officer.

The Role

This role will perform a critical function in the newly established Internal Control Program (“ICP”). The ICP will establish common expectations for control activities at the firm. It will promote a strong control environment through consistent internal control standards and enterprise-wide control capabilities, including a common control taxonomy, centralized control inventory, centralized control application and centralized governance. It will also reinforce front line and IRM accountabilities for controlling risks at the Company.

This role will serve as the Business and Control Team Liaison for the Internal Control Program reporting directly to the Head of the ICP. The role will provide the opportunity to support the mobilization of critical control related functions in collaboration with senior stakeholders.

Specific responsibilities of this role will include the following:

  •  Supporting the coordination of Front Line engagement activities
  • Ensuring a consistent understanding of IRM expectations
  • Coordinating with other leaders on the team to gather feedback from front line stakeholders
  • Supporting front line implementation activities
  • Providing ongoing governance over Front Line controls in the centralized inventory
  • Supporting ongoing control rationalization activities

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 10+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 7+ years must include direct experience in risk management
